John and Lorena first met through mission work in 1998 in Costa Rica. By God’s providence they would meet again in 2001 as staff at an adventure camp. Lorena’s heart for Latin America and missions began as a teenager while living in Costa Rica. For John, that call came in 2016 while serving as the director for the Outdoor Adventure program at the University of Virginia when God grew his desire to bring hope and truth to the lost and broken. He also showed John how he could use his gifts and experience in the outdoors for effective ministry in a cross cultural setting.
The McCalls will miss Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains where they lived for 12 years, but are excited and honored to move onto the mission field with their three children, Annelise, Caleb, and Benjamin.
